History of the Upton Fete
The Upton Fete has long since been an established fixture in the area for those wanting to enjoy an event that celebrates both summer and our beautiful village of Upton. It has been held in various locations around the village, but it now takes place in the stunning grounds of the British Horological Society (BHI), the fete is something of a throwback. No gimmicks, no big-ticket acts; just a wonderful day for everyone, village families and friends to enjoy. It is open to everyone to attend not just Uptonian's
In 2025 Upton Village Fete will be held on Saturday the 12th July, 2-5pm
Set in the shadows of the imposing BHI Grade II listed country house sit all sorts of stalls for the whole family including kids' games (adults welcome), high quality local produce, fine food, fine art and a first-rate bar and BBQ.
The fete is organised and run by Upton villagers, keen to keep this old event alive and to celebrate the joys of living in such a pretty and ancient place.
As well as including the normal selection of stalls, this year’s fete will have children’s races, dog competitions, live music from two local bands and the all-important welly winging.
The Guest of Honour at the Fete will be Nigel Papworth and his wife Helen, who will open the fete at 2pm. Nigel has recently retired after being the Upton Postman for 40 years. A presentation will also be made to him to thank him for his efforts.
So, if you’re a regular here, or keen to see what you’ve been missing; make sure to not miss this year’s Upton Fete!
